This Saturday, Put Invisible Dogs in the Spotlight!
The “Invisible Dogs” movement is designed to put shelter dogs in the spotlight so they have the best odds at finding forever homes. Our goal is to mobilize your community to get involved and help invisible dogs at your shelter be seen. Best Friends’ inaugural “National Animal Shelter Check-in Day” is Saturday, November 12, 2011.
What’s going to happen?
We're asking you to go to your local shelter and “check-in” using your mobile phone's geolocation app called
foursquare. We even worked with foursquare to add a category for animal shelters. While you're there, take a picture of a dog and share it (please use the #invisibledogs hashtag so your tweet appears on our Twitter Ticker). Depending on the shelter's rules, you could even volunteer by walking a dog or two.
That’s it. Easy, right? All in hopes that these dogs will be seen by the person of their dreams...and get adopted! Read more about it on our
blog.
